I’m leaving this review to help future guests make an informed decision. This hotel is only slightly cheaper than nearby Marriott/SPG options, so it’s not a true budget stay. I chose it thinking I was saving a little money, but unfortunately ended up regretting it. Here’s what happened: • Room 1: Upon entering, I immediately saw a dead cockroach in the room. I went to the front desk to request a room change. The staff member was very calm about it, almost as if this was not unusual. • Room 2: The second room had a very strong and unpleasant odor—not a mild smell, but a heavy, lingering sweat / old carpet / body-odor-like smell that was extremely hard to tolerate. I turned the fan on at the highest setting and left the room for about 5 hours. When I came back, the smell was still clearly
I hope this review is viewed by the management/owners and serious improvements are made. This hotel seems to be limping along on minimal service, cleaning, and upkeep. -A lamp in our room was missing 2 of 3 light bulbs. -Excessive rust on fixtures in the bathroom -Bathroom fan inoperable, excessive musty smell in whole room -Front desk staff nowhere to be seen for 5 minutes upon entering. When they came out from the back, there is no warm greeting, just an awkward look of wondering what you want. -Common area carpets excessively worn and dust collecting at the base of the walls. It looks ignored for months. I forgot a bunch of other things I noticed, but I was sorry to give this place money in exchange for a hotel that needs serious renovations and a dramatic improvement in the qual
No one in the area when we arrived and rang the bell. The clerk came and was on a personal phone call. While we checked in, he remained on the call and answered our questions rudely. Upon entering our room there was no remote and the phone didn’t work to call downstairs. The phone never worked. We were told to come downstairs and get the remote so we did. During the entire stay requests to the front desk had to be made from our personal phones. The next morning we asked for the room not to be cleaned but to just leave fresh towels in the room. We didn’t get any fresh towels the entire stay. The water temperature in the shower and sink never rose above lukewarm or room temperature, never hot!
I've been staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites in San Marcos for the past five Thursdays, and I have one more overnight stay next Thursday.||||Overall, it has been a pleasant experience for me except for the following minor issues,||1) For some reason, during my first stay, they put me in the Handicapped Room on the first floor. I'm not handicapped, but Ok. ||However, this room was right next to the parking lot, where 5-6 construction workers decided it would be a good place to have a tailgate get-together until about 10:00 p.m. I don't blame them for getting together outside before calling it a night, but it was outside my room. Traveling as a solo female, it creeped me out to even want to get undressed, and they were literally right outside my window.||Could there be an alternative pla
We were recently in for a convention, business related. That means that we had to be up early and get some well earned rest each day that we were there. Instead, waking up we discovered that the coffee machine in the lobby was out of order and the one in our room would not provide the quality we were expecting. Getting ready in the morning with a shower? Forget about it. The water takes about 5-10 minutes to warm up to a great lukewarm temperature. Because of a medical condition, I find comfort in taking hot showers but I could not get that relief. At night, we expect to be greeted with comfort of fluffy sheets, pillows and a mattress. The mattress felt flat and stiff, the pillows were fluffy but the material also felt stiff. The sheets just didn't have the quality of comfort that you can
