Comfort Inn Altoona - Des Moines

Good location. The gal at the front desk was very nice. Greeted when we walked in to check in to our room. Room was very clean and it was a quite. Has free breakfast which is just your typical hotel breakfast. All in all we had a great stay.

I travel a fair amount for both business and personal trips and have stayed in many Comfort Inn properties over the years. I rarely take time to write a review anymore, but felt this experience warranted it.||This happened to be a one night stay for a trip with my family. I was appalled at the high rate of $252 with a AAA discount for the room, but didn't have much choice due to limited options in the area. But to top it off, once we had checked in we realized the swimming pool was not available, which was disappointing since we had all brought our suits and were looking forward to a relaxing swim. When one of the primary amenities is not available, how is the standard high rate justified? ||I understand that the costs of lodging have increased, but I think the rates for Choice Hotel

Very decent hotel for the price. My room was clean, with the exception of a few small area of dust (picture frame corners, etc). The facilities are fresh and welcoming, I would stay here again without hesitation.

Room was very nice and comfortable. Being on the back away from the main parking lot and entrance made it quieter. And there was plenty of light in the room, which is usually a complaint. Breakfast was good and area very clean. Only issue had to do with the shower head being very high so difficult for me (5'6") to adjust.

What a delightful Comfort Inn! Clean comfortable room with snuggly coverlet. Friendly staff. Breakfast was a surprise with hot food. The sausage links were delicious and a step above most other Comfort Inns. The hotel is convenient to the casino and restaurants. I took an Uber to the Brass Armadillo since my husband had an all day workshop nearby. Highly recommend this Comfort Inn. We will definitely stay here again!!
