CLT Sky Suites

Let's start off. The hotel was doing renovation, which was not disclosed while I was booking. Rooms are spacious and nice. Staff was polite. Okay, that's all the good Let get to why I didn't stay the next day. Only the TV in the front room worked. Was told that maintenance would come and fix it, which never happened. Then, to wake up and not have any hot water.

Stayed one night on June 21st, 2025. Upon arrival had a little difficulty realizing i was in the correct place. Small temp. Sign on a fence that will only be seen if you are really looking. Front desk was very friendly and reassuring that the rooms were nice and up to date but charge a $150 damage fee that was not in description which was very unprofessional and alarming to walk into not knowing. The hotel had a bad smell throughout it and in the rooms. Had to keep bathroom door closed to keep the smell down. Rooms are updated and very nice set up. Pool and breakfast as described on the website was not in service due to renovations being done that was not in the description when booking which was very upsetting. The hotel is still being renovated. My room had a cabinet not completely put together. There was no shampoo, conditioner or body wash in the shower. The shower itself was HUGE! There was a smoke detector missing, just the wiring was exposed. Otherwise, the room was very clean. The front desk was put in a hotel room. Because the main lobby was under construction. The hotel manager/staff was very friendly. This whole experience made my unplanned overnight layover much more pleasant. Give it a few months and this place will be in Shape.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Charlotte, NC, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised! When I first arrived, I was a bit skeptical—the hotel is undergoing some renovations, and the signage situation was confusing (the hotel name was only on a banner on the construction fence, and the building still had an old sign). The front office was actually in a converted hotel room due to the lobby remodel, which made check-in feel a little unusual. However, any concerns I had quickly disappeared thanks to the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. They explained the situation and made sure I felt at home right away. When we pulled into the parking lot I thought, this can't be the right place.... well it was. The hotel is undergoing MAJOR renovations, which we were not informed of until we saw a piece of paper tapped to the front door. Management, in case you didn't know, people HATE surprises. I honestly felt conned. The pictures did not match the hotel in any way shape or form. The entire parking lot was a construction zone. The pool was drained. How they get away with charging people this much for the experience we had is beyond me. The room was spacious, that's the only positive thing I have to say. This was a total waste of money and ruined our weekend getaway to Charlotte.
