Clarion Hotel & Suites - Convention Center Fredericksburg

Close to I 95 going in either direction,this comfort inn was clean and spacious for 2 people. A great stop for a overnight stay. Provides hot breakfast for all guests. Bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished. Room had a microwave and a small refrigerator.

I've been around the world enough to be on my third passport, and like to think I've seen the some of the best and worst lodging both domestic and abroad that life can offer. That said, this facility stands-out in recent memory as one of the worst hotel experiences I've had to go through. Check-in took well over 20 minutes, which was both unacceptable and ridiculous considering that the reservation was made weeks in advance. After finally securing our keys, we had to actually drive to the other side of the building in order to access our room; being a larger convention center, this may be understandable if the closer rooms were actually occupied, but I would wager that they just don't keep track of the status of their rooms. We were very excited after reading good reviews. But our stay was unsatisfactory. The front desk worker that checked us in was rude. Our keys wouldn’t open our door. The beds were small, hard and would make so much noise anytime you moved. There was mold on the bathroom floor. The sliding glass door to the balcony wouldn’t open. Wifi was absolutely terrible. The only good thing, the room was very big

I'm told that when our meeting at this hotel was booked in 2019 it was a really nice place. During my stay that couldn't have been further from the truth. The hotel was partially under renovation. There was dust an debris tracked into the occupied areas. Equipment was missing or out of order. The elevators were out of service. The food service facilities were closed. The climate control was irregular. The meeting facilities and setup were haphazard. I understand that following our event the hotel was closing down to complete the renovations. I wish our meeting had been moved from this location or postponed. I feel our group was ripped off.

Entered room and it hadn’t been cleaned. Beds not made. No sheets or blankets. Dog food pellets dropped on bathroom floor and floors not cleaned. Gave second star for staff who were kind and gentleman was especially interested and went to original room to see for himself. Though i was disappointed that using three phones we could not get answer from front desk and had to drive around building to inform of situation. First response was, “ Did you take pictures?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Seriously? I’m just tired. Got another room that is neat with made beds but they are renovating this hotel so the future promises a sensational new facility according to pictures in front entry. We may try again after renovations. Location is great.
