Clarion Hotel Somerset - New Brunswick

Positive: I read all the bad reviews and was scared to go but my room was clean and the shower worked. I had hot water it's just it's the opposite the cold is the hot. The bed was the best part it was very comfortable. Negative: Toilet took long to flush but everything went down. It's an old room needs to be updated but it was clean

At first getting to the hotel I was told by front desk late night worker that the room I booked was not available on the floor with the group I was booked with. It was about 2 in the morning so I was asking to just switch the room to a room available on the floor with the rest of the group. I was told by the night worker he couldn't do anything about the reservation so I called costumer service and was told that the only person that can make changes is the front desk. After going back and forth for about 30 minutes was given room. Only to see room was not very clean whole in sheets mildew around shower and things like that. After getting locked out when returning to m u room with things from my car the worker had to give me a new key. The key still did not work and he had to let me in with

This was a disaster. I stayed at this location because I was attending a group function. I checked in around 5 pm, and by 9 pm or so, the door lock will not open. I went to the front desk a few times and was given and new Key Card. After about the 5th time, the front desk guy came up with me. He barely put any effort into getting the door open. All my stuff was locked in the room. I can't even change clothes for the event. After numerous attempts, I was given another room on the same floor. This was not good enough. I was unable to attend the event because all my stuff was locked in the room, and no one seemed to know how to open it. Two other rooms on another floor had the same issue. I am very disappointed. I spent good money to attend this event and could not go because of the hotel

Terrible hotel old nasty carpets microwave and fridge was out of order they overcharged and had the audacity to give me and my husband and adjoining room with some lound drunks!!! On top of my food wasting in there fridge that never turned on they refused to help in anyway, they want a deposit for this retched hotel you can't pay cash my deposit is still yet to return and this was 12 days ago. The housekeepers clean the room with there kids running around and the front desk are the worst can't help with a damn thing!!!! Worst hotel experience ever! They do have a little restaurant attached with a bar if you go to this hotel that's the only place you may enjoy. Also they try seem like this upscale joint they don't even do room service!!!

The lobby and restaurant is very nice and the food was good. But the room I stayed in gave a short stay motel vibe. The furniture was old example, night stand handle was broken and bathroom toilet seat had permanent stains under the lid which look unsanitary. The bed was comfortable and room smelled clean and fresh.
