We stayed for one night and now plan to get in mid-day next time and stay for a couple days.||It says Marfa above but this place is 30 or so miles from Marfa. There is a 10 mile paved road and another 20-30 miles of unpaved gravel road to get here. The directions on the web page + signs were excellent we managed to navigate our way there at midnight (in the dark or course) without getting lost.||The room was cozy and the bed was especially comfortable after driving 800 miles that day... The hot spring fed tub was wonderful on a cool March morning. The shower in the room was also fed by hot spring. Unfortunately we weren't here long enough to enjoy the use of the grill or the large community kitchen. The proprietor was a very pleasant lady for the brief chat I had with her. They were
I wanted to leave a much better review until I left the facility and was passed by the owner/caretaker on the gravel road at a high rate of speed spraying my truck with rocks and leaving two large chips in my windshield, one of which is probably going to spider and cause replacement. This place truly is a hidden gem. We drove for ten hours to get here, and it was such a pity we only booked one night. As Taiwanese, we really enjoy soaking in hot springs!
Not EV friendly based on their website. Either their electrical is not up to code or they are ignorant. EVs can charge on a standard wall outlet and don't require significant draw on the power grid...
I retreated to Chinati Hot Springs on a whim when Big Bend was forecast to get snow and bitter cold winds in early February. Compared with my other hotel options the Chinati Hot Springs was well worth the price and the longer drive to get there. Definitely don’t use Google maps to get there, instead follow the directions from the Hot Springs website. This place was pure bliss! The room was cozy and well adorned. I love the way the whole property is set up for endless lounging opportunities. I would look forward to returning with friends in warmer weather to enjoy grilling, drinking margaritas, and enjoying a soak and beautiful sunset. The host wasn’t super warm and welcoming, though she may have been preoccupied with helping another guest who had a flat tire… She checked me in quickly, sh
