Chicken Coop

For the price per night you cant really complain. Hot showers with working sinks and toilets. This was my 3rd stay here and I have to brag that I have not seen any bugs nor "trashiness" here. Very chill and laid back atmosphere. Beautiful location and its just a hop skip and a jump to town lol construction is still undergoing... BEAUTIFULLY COLD AIR CONDITIONING THROUGHOUT ENTIRE BUILDING(S)

Stayed here last week and came back again a week later! They went above and beyond to accommodate us at late, spontaneous hours and did everything they could to make my sister's experience good as she used her scooter to get in and out and needed a handicapped-friendly room. Laura is the best! Accommodations are simple and get the job done. Two bathrooms for sharing and a 2 separate showers. Even some shared toiletries for the shower if desired... and food/coffee for sharing as well.

my wife and I stayed here on a whim when we were out east looking at campers. well we were so impressed that we ended up booking another week the next morning. the manager Laura is great, coming from me with 15+ years in the hospitality industry is a HUGE compliment. As cynical and jaded as i have become meeting people with the passion for hospitality that Laura shows is refreshing and gives me hope for the industry. We actually upon recommendation fee from Laura bought a camper and were able to sell and find some great antiques while we.were there. She is k knowledgable about the area and is a real person not your everyday hospitality manager who just reads from a script. This was such a unique experience! The people who reside in and run the Chicken Coop were amazing people. They included us in everything that they were doing, including drinking and playing pool. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear your neighbors but it wasn't loud enough to not get rest. Most of the rowdy shenanigans were in the common area. (Which was the best part!) In case anyone is wondering like I was, there are two communal showers and two communal restrooms. If you're a very spoiled person, this place is not for you. But if you want good company and you're a humbled person, you'll fit right in with these amazing folks.

If you need a cool cheap place to lay your head I highly recommend checking out the Chicken Coop. The manager, Laura is great people who takes pride in her work and the hostel. All the regular residents treated my wife and I like family. We were invited to eat and go to a bon fire party with them. We’ve stayed at a lot of places over the years and never had as good a time, nor met as many cool people as we did at the chicken coop.
