Cosby Group Camp

We arrived at the campground after 4:00 pm to find the ranger check-in station closed. Our reservation ticket was not among the 3 or 4 tickets on the board, but the car directly in front of us didn't find their ticket either. I wasn't worried as it was a late arrival on a Sunday night. Easily found our campsite in a mostly empty campground. Camp host waved as we drove past. Checked in with ranger the next morning when house was staffed. Tent pad was level but small for our two small/medium tents. Site was clean of any trash. Restrooms were flush toilets and running water, very clean. Cleaned daily. We stayed in the group camping over the weekend. Check-in was easy, super sweet staff. No cell service and we are ok with that. No shower, but they did have bathrooms, and sink to wash dishes in. Very peaceful.

We only spent one night here as we were passing through on our way to South Carolina, but I wish we could have stayed longer. It is a beautiful campground. ||We did not have reservations when we arrived, but we were able to drive around the campground to pick our site before paying our fee. The park attendant (I cannot remember her name) was very helpful and full of information. ||The campsites are very spacious and affordable ($17.50/night). We had two children, ages 5 and 3, who explored the area and had a blast! We also had two dogs with us. We were next to one if the many restroom facilities, which was very clean. No showers are on site, which is expected with most national park campgrounds. ||We planned to fly fish for trout, but the weather and time constraints didn't allow for it. W

I camped here for four nights in October. Very large campground that was almost full when I was there. Some great trails originate at or near the campground., and it's not far from Gatlinburg. The campers were diverse and well behaved. Only negative was the lack of showers and the lack of hot water in the bathrooms.

Two adults and two young children stayed here, reserved online in the back part of the outer B loop, site B54. Tip: online, scroll through the walk up sites and there’s a lot more reservable ones there. |The campground is lovely, shaded, too much more privacy than most in GSMNP. Our site had a short set of stairs to get to but was close to the bathroom and provided some space between the neighboring sites. The walk up sites and A loop are less private and were much louder.|No showers. Go to the end of the B loop to the trails, walk about 1/8 of mile and there’s an awesome stream for kids to play in.|Bathrooms were clean. Bring paper towels and hand soap. There are lights in the bathroom at night. |It was quite a drive to the more popular attractions in the park but it was worth it to us to
