Chart House Inn

EDIT in response to the owner: In no way is it normal to inform employees at a restaurant about the mismanagement of the rooms and amenities at the inn. The issues with the inn were avoidable and clearly disregarded. Regardless, the interactions we had at the restaurant were oddly aggressive. The manager was strangely braggadocious, essentially rambling his resume off to us as we were dining, and continued to discuss business matters and personal opinions--full of vulgarities--to his staff while people were dining. I didn't originally include the restaurant experience in our review, as they are different establishments, however, as the owner considers the restaurant staff responsible for issues at the inn, I'll suggest you skip them both. We had such an amazing stay at the Chart House in Newport, RI! From the moment we arrived, we knew we’d picked the right place—just steps from Main Street but still so peaceful and full of charm.||The owner couldn’t have been nicer or more welcoming. She even gave us a token for a complimentary drink at one of the nearby sister restaurants, which was such a thoughtful surprise.||Our room was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. And we absolutely loved meeting the resident dogs—they were so sweet and made the place feel even more like home.||We spent some time relaxing in the lobby’s living room area, which was such a comfortable spot to unwind, with fresh water always available.||We also ate several times at the on-site restaurant, and it quickly became one of our favorites—great

Beware! Half the rooms in this hotel share a single bathroom and that was not at all clear on the listing. We have medical conditions that require easy bathroom access and had no idea our room wouldn’t have a bathroom. Further the house was incredibly loud and we heard other people all night. It’s very cute and I’m sure one of the ensuite rooms would have been great, but the host was completely inflexible when we told her we couldn’t stay in a room without a bathroom and we had to book another hotel for the weekend.

We had the Ida Lewis Room which was awesome. Tons of light and space to enjoy our stay. The bed, pillows and sheets were very comfortable and great quality. The bathroom huge. Loved the decoration and attention to details. The location was perfect for us since it is in the middle of everything there is to see but yet in a quiet and lovely neighborhood with historical houses. Restaurants, bay, Thames Street, mansions and hikes are all at walking distance.|Having your own parking space is also a plus.|Would definitely stay here again!!|Thank you Nicole for making our trip to Newport be unforgettable

My wife and I stayed here for our Anniversary, there was no disappointments in every aspect! The rooms were quaint, welcoming, and clean, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Our host Nicole made us feel like we were family and sharing memories. The breakfast was simply amazing and plentiful, left us anticipating the next morning! The location was excellent and close to Thames St and many historical buildings with the convenience of many dining options, also including their sister restaurants! We found every place to be memorable, kind and gracious! Shout out to Nicole, Mike, and bartender Tom for their hospitality and warmth! Will definitely be back! Five plus stars is not enough!
