Chalet Kilauea

What an absolutely gorgeous place to stay! The outdoor space is beautiful say and night. We loved our space. It was very clean, comfy, and huge. Being here was very relaxing and romantic. I especially enjoyed the amazing shower! Safe, quiet, and very close to the national park. It would be really nice if some sort of grab and go breakfast was included but we enjoyed our stay regardless.

Nice location and close to Volcano National Park where we visited for 2 days. Hassle free check in was great. Room was really nice - lots of wood and rock in the room which was a pleasant surprise. Only complaint was mattress was very firm - woke up with sore back. Room 109.

We decided to spend a night on the Hilo side and booked this about a week before departure, so it was a bit of a last minute decision. It served its purpose for a quick overnight near Volcano, but it’s not somewhere I’d choose to stay again. The room itself felt very outdated and in need of a refresh. What stood out more than the decor, though, was the cleanliness. There was noticeable dust buildup on the light fixtures and bathroom vents, which honestly felt gross and like such an easy thing to address. It’s the kind of detail that makes you question overall upkeep. The property has a koi pond, but when we were there the water was pretty murky, which took away from what could have been a charming feature. Soundproofing is also minimal. Positive: Location Negative: The hotel left a rental contract with the key. The rental contract advised by Hi law we needed to add our credit card information on the contract and sign. Then, return the contract when we checked out. The next day we were notified by our bank of fraud.

This is conveniently located near the Volcanoes NP! The room we got is very big and clean! Even the shower area is so big! They use a self check in method which is so convenient! Guest supplies are in a separate room. There is ample parking for all guests.
