Captain Jack's Wharf

My wife and I have stayed at many places on the Cape over the last 32 years. I must say this was the best. Just a perfect picturesque location with a rustic maritime vibe. We decided to go in the early fall this year when the rates, the temps and the crowds all go down. A nice relaxing time to visit the Cape, and Captain Jacks was just what we were hoping it would be.|Hope to be back next October!

Unique and tasteful. This place has more character than a casting call. You'll never get the sand out of your shoes after stating at a place like this. Every cabin so unique and interesting. Never losing the local feel and indigenous authenticity associated with Provincetown and its shores. Quite a necessary experience!

I wanted to take a moment to mention a local business that we booked and briefly stayed at last week and to paint a realistic picture of our experiences.||I’ve been coming to Provincetown for close to 30 years now and have stayed virtually everywhere, from camping to 5-star luxury and everywhere in between. This year I was very excited to be able to book our annual Bear Week weeklong stay at Captain Jack’s Wharf, a place I have ALWAYS wanted to stay at. We got in touch with the management company way back in February this year and booked one of the upper cabins for our trip last week. The pictures looked like the ultimate beach side bohemian getaway. The reviews were mostly positive. But what we eventually experienced was a nightmare and I wanted to share what occurred so hopefully others

Amazing week at Captain Jacks Wharf! We stayed (3 people total) in Bridge cabin on the upper deck of the Wharf. The place is eccentrically beautiful and feels authentic. Superb views of the harbor, as well as east-end and west-end of Provincetown from all windows (including a window in each sleeping loft -- great to fall asleep with a breeze and moonlight streaming in). Nice quality bed linens and Dr Bronners soaps. The towels were OK. Kitchen was well equipped and comfortable to cook even dinners for friends. Bridge has a small private deck, suitable for ~ 6 people. The Wharf itself is one of the most interesting and scenically beautiful spots in P-town. Greg the manager was helpful. All in all, a wonderful time!

We went with friends for a day trip and stayed in Plymouth overnight. ||||There is municipal parking close by with full day parking for $10. ||||The ferry has two boats. They filled the smaller, older one first. It is a pleasant ride with very comfortable seats indoors downstairs but we were on the benches on the upper deck outside. The sun outside is very strong since it is also reflected from the water. We were on the first boat in both directions with the second boat leaving significantly later. Going out of Plymouth was interesting as was arriving at Provincetown but the trip in between was a little long. There were surprisingly few boats or anything else to see.||||On the return trip the second ferry was still loading when we left Provincetown. We had to be more than 10 minute
