Candlewood Suites DFW Airport North – Irving, an IHG Hotel

This place has all the right pictures and looks nice from the outside. However, it was refinished cheaply. The chairs in the room has stains all over it. The water never got hot at all so the showers were cold. The side door to the parking lot doesn't close and secure properly. Someone on the first floor by that door clearly smokes in the room all the time. It was pretty disappointing and I wouldn't come back or recommend it to others. Staff seem nice enough but it doesn't make up for the poor upkeep.

Positive: The hotel staff at check-in was friendly and answered my questions . The shuttle got me to the airport quickly , I was dropped off directly at my gate . The room was nicer than I anticipated Negative: Nothing

Overall, this was a decent stay, but there were a few hiccups that kept it from being a full five stars. I accidentally booked the wrong date through Hotels.com because it was after midnight, and the site doesn’t allow same-day bookings once the date rolls over. I realized the mistake immediately (within a minute) and called to see if I could either add the current night or get a refund so I could rebook elsewhere for two nights. Unfortunately, they said the reservation was non-refundable and couldn’t help, even though it had just been made. That part was disappointing and not very accommodating. Check-in was also inefficient. There was a long line, only one person working the desk, and they wouldn’t check anyone in until exactly 3:00 p.m. — not even a little early. We arrived around 2:30

I booked a stay at Candlewood Suites DFW Airport North – Irving by IHG for November 20–21, 2025, the night before an important job interview. My reservation was confirmed on Booking.com, and the listing clearly stated that payment could be made at the property upon arrival. Although I had a card on file, I kept it locked during travel for security reasons and intended to pay in full at check-in. Clean great workout room very comfortable bed and pillow pillows. The airport no noise is a factor, but I just turned on some white noise. It would be nice to have a White Noise machine in the room.
