Candlewood Suites Atlanta - Smyrna by IHG

The best thing about this hotel is Mr. Allen. He consistently goes above and beyond for the guests. These rooms are not clean, the room equipment (lamps, TV, wall hooks) is broken, the bathroom, towels, and dishes are dirty, the room smell like old-stale damp fried food that's clearly trapped in the carpet and curtains, and the front desk agents (except Mr. Allen) prefers to be unbothered by the guests. Don't be fooled by the low prices. These low prices reflect the poor upkeep of the hotel and customer service that can quickly include an annoyed front desk agent. Only come to this raggedy place if you absolutely have no where else to go. Go to down the street to EVEN hotel where everything is clean, fresh, new, modern, budget friendly, and the front desk agents are happy to assist and are

Highly recommend this place, comfortable beds and a full kitchen! We stayed here as home base for a show at the battery Roxy, it has the perfect set up. Clean and everything is new. There’s a free coffee/tea machine in the market area too. Would recommend putting more towels in the room, not just two towels that are pretty small. Consider a free water station? Hotels that offer me free water/ a water dispenser (maybe even with some limes or lemons)…to the top of my list! Well hydrated guests are happy guests.

The hotel was okay but the customer service significant lacked. Couldn't get towels brought up to me for over 2 hours. Kept having to call the desk and everytime he would answer and took my room number..nothing. Had to come downstairs and he's on his phone and drinking water. Mind you I had a project I was working on so I couldn't go downstairs. Also, My TV didn't work. Had a brown stain on my comforter. I see now why they have low ratings. They could really be a good hotel.. Just retrain the workers.

As far as Candlewood Suites goes, not my favorite. There were a few annoyances. Upon walking into the building, there were broken bottles of Blue Moon on one of the luggage dollys accompanied by the malodorous scent of stale beer. There is NO complimentary breakfast. Room 309 has a door lock that wouldnt work. However, room 306 had a fully functional lock. The provided WI-FI access code was incorrect. Only one of the two elevators were operational. I've stayed at Holiday Inns that provided a better traveler experience, but the actual room, in some ways, was better than a Holiday Inn, as it has a full size refrigerator and a cooktop. I didnt hear other guests, the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure good and the AC did its job.

Allen was friendly, kind and helpful. I was in town for OMF and arrived prior to check in time. There wasn't a room available. He held my bags for me, advised me of food spots in the area and took my number down so that he could call me once a room was ready. The room was good, large and comfortable. No major complaints but it could've been just a bit cleaner. Specifically, the bathroom. There was some hair and dust in a few places and all the counters needed to be wiped down a little bit more. I always travel with cleaning wipes so I was able to wipe everything down. I loved that the room had a microwave and refrigerator. As well as a dishwasher, plates, dish soap etc. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks again, Allen. You're appreciated.
