Candlewood Suites Alexandria West by IHG

We stayed one night for an appointment in DC. Upon arrival, the staff member automatically gave me a choice between the standard room that I had reserved or an upgrade (at no charge) if I did not want to be adjacent to the elevator (as I mentioned restful sleep as our primary objective). We choose the upgrade and the room was perfect. It had a full kitchen with all the basics and a nice work desk. We did not need all the extras but greatly appreciated the extremely comfortable bed and down (or down-like) pillow options. A ride to DC was no more than $20. The coffee was poor (both in the room and downstairs) but that is my only complaint. We would definitely stay there again if needing to travel to DC.

Positive: The cleanliness and professionalism of the staff. Negative: I will suggest the hotel include car rental at least for exclusively for those that rent the hotel room

Everyone here is incredibly friendly — from the front desk to the maintenance crew and the general manager. Any issues with the room are resolved quickly and professionally. The atmosphere feels amazing, truly like a family

Great hotel! Front desk is always cheerful and willing to help. Rooms are clean and spacious with a small kitchen to cook. Use this as my go-to hotel when i work in Alexandria.
