BWCA Nels Lake Lodge

This was our third time staying at this cabin. Beautiful cabin, spacious, with an open floor plan, tons of natural light, plenty of amenities and gorgeous views. Off the grid, we get limited cell phone service and the cabin runs off a generator so we only run that in the morning and at night. The owners have everything that you would need for a cabin visit. There are two canoes that you can bring down to the Nels Lake access about 1/4 mile down the road from their drive and fishing poles on site. There is also a swimming spot and fishing pier 5 minutes down Echo road at Fenske Lake/Fenske Campground and several area hiking trails. My husband's favorite thing to do is grill out on the deck with the tree top views. Perfect place to kick back, unplug and relax!

Family and I just stayed up there for almost a week. The mice were really bad, the owner knew this and failed to share this with us prior. We have been coming to Northern Minnesota and Canada since we were kids. We own a farm. So I do understand how mice and critters can be frustrating to deal with. These mice were bad! Got into our food and kept my parents up 2 nights in a row. They would not even refund 1 nights worth. Say thats the off grid experience....

Beautiful off-the-grid log cabin for rent on 20 acres with amazing views over the tree tops in a secluded area that is so quiet and peaceful! We stayed for a weekend and fell in love with this place! Definitely a great place to get away from the city, relax, enjoy the simple things in life, and explore the Boundary Waters!
