Bliss Cottage formerly Inn Bliss

We stayed at Inn Bliss for just one night in August. It was our one night honeymoon (since we have a 10 month old daughter, we couldn't get away for too many nights). ||||The day started with a fabulous massage when we first arrived. I had thought the massage would have been in the our bedroom to be more romantic. It was in the living room. However, the entire house was vacant so I can't complain! The housekeepers were using cleaning products right outside of the room that the massage was in, so that was a bit distracting. There was no spa like music. I stayed at Inn Bliss for a wedding with some friends over the week of July 4th and I have to say that while we enjoyed the town of Newport, we felt mislead about the house overall. It was NOT made clear in advance that the "living areas" are actually just small rooms off of the main rooms that do not have doors (by the way, there is no door to the upstairs bathroom either so I hope you are comfortable with your co-renters!) It was disappointing that this was not made clear, as we were travelling with numerous couples who would have liked to have some privacy. There was trash from the previous tenant before we arrived. Call me crazy but when a guest is paying good money to rent a home, I feel it is the owner's responsibility to get rid of the previous tenant's trash, ESPECIALLY if it

The Inn Bliss is a very comfortable old property within easy walking distance of all the attractions in Newport. Nick is a good host, except we did not see a lot of him, but the information he gave us and was contained in the instruction booklet were all that we needed. We chose the non breakfast option which was fine, there are lots of places to eat close by. This was the only place that we stayed during our trip that did not have en suite bathroom, but as we were the only people on our floor it did not concern us and the bathroom was very good.

I’ve rented at the owner’s other house, Architect’s Inn, and enjoyed every minute of it. This time, a few friends and I wanted to have a mini vacation in Newport so we decided we would try Inn Bliss. What a treat! There’s nothing like staying in a historic house that’s been well-maintained. It was lovely and eclectic in style, yet it felt like home. The rooms were very comfortable when relaxing. The owner made sure we knew the latest on restaurants and attractions which was very helpful. Everything about this house and this trip was “bliss”!

I rented this house with friends all of whom are young professionals having rented prior homes without problems or disappointments in the past. The location of this "inn" is fantastic however we were let down by the cleanliness of the home- there were several trash bags from prior renters upon our arrival. Even if they had left that same day, cleaning service is paid for by the renters and should have been seen to that this was taken care of prior to our arrival, not a great first impression. The hot tub as promised was broken, it is not okay to make a judgment that it was a hot week and we wouldn't want to use it anyway- do I not want to take a hot shower in the summer....?
