Best Western San Marcos

After the change of both ownership & management, this hotel looks very clean and comfortable right now! Especially Mr. Babul (the general manager) does his best to meet your expectations. I am sure this hotel is on its way to become one of the Best Western hotels in the area…

I stayed at the BW San Marcos for two nights over Easter weekend. The hotel was full of families so I always felt safe. The room was clean and quiet. I had read in other reviews that people complained of highway noise, so I made sure to ask for a room that faced away from the highway. My morning wake up was birds singing outside my room. (To be fair, it is spring.) I enjoyed breakfast. Had scrambled eggs with toast and coffee every morning. They rotated Canadian bacon and sausage links every day. They also had Texas-shaped waffles, which are always a hit. The coffee was ok, but it was always fresh. I didn't see any decaf if that's your thing. The room was clean and the a/c kept the room nice and cold. The only thing that wasn't great for me was the mattress. Some people can sleep anywhere

I am loyal to Best Western and use them often. When I search on their website I'm always sure to collect the box for pets, because I always travel with my dog, and that's one of the reasons we always stay at best western. When I arrive to check in after an 8-hour Drive I was told they do not accept pets. He showed me on their website where it's in really fine print at the bottom. That's beside the point since the search engine told me they did take pets. They refused to refund me my money. This may be the last time I do business with Best Western. They left me stranded out of state with a daughter and a dog, and couldn't care less about it.

The location is okay, easy to find right off the highway. There are several restaurants in the area to choose from. It has a strong old smell and curry. The pool is located outside and was okay. Just needed to be cleaned a bit because it had a lot of bugs floating in it but the water was clear. The room was clean but they actually deep clean and scan the room before putting someone in there. They definitely need to get pest control. There was a roach on the bed and a dead cricket on the floor under the ac unit. We moved to another room and all was fine until I went to shower and there was a roach on the mirror in the bathroom. The person at the front desk was amazing, he quickly switched our room and made sure it was taken care of. He was very helpful and polite. Unfortunately he can’t con
