Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven

OK the lone highlight of the stay was Ms. Tracy at the front desk.....she was pleasant and caring, and brought an extra blanket to our room on the far side of the hotel. Rest of the adventure was downhill....... I arrived earlier than my 4pm scheduled check-in time, which for most Best Western hotels is not an issue considering my Diamond Select status (yes, I stay at Best Wester hotels quite a bit). Was told by someone at the front desk that unless I paid a $30 early check-in fee, they could not check me in, as they were very busy with cleaning......Normally, I could live with that, but then things went downhill....... Came back later and Ms. Tracy checked us in. We went to our room, and were greeted by a garden of cigarette butts outside the room. So much for the extra time that was ne

Cute little place and reasonable price. Very clean and nice people. Breakfast should have been better supplied, but they did have a lot of people staying. We really liked that we could just pull up to the door of our room.

Positive: The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful Negative: We didn?t even get a chance to get out of our car before we were approached by bums. The room smelled of some kind of cleaning product so strong we had to leave the door and windows open to air it out. The toilet paper holder was so far away!

They say it's nostalgic, but the simple fact is, it's in complete disrepair. The folks are nice, the rooms are somewhat clean, and breakfast was ok. Let's talk about the overall condition of the rooms. The alarm clock was not functioning and had LEDs blanked out. Some light bulbs were burned out. There were holes in the bathroom walls, gobs of caulk everywhere, missing and broken tile, a gap in the front door so you could see outside, a large dead mystery bug on the floor, and so on. We had a sense of unease because of the way everything seemed to be falling apart. I wish I could give a more favorable review, but you can see by the photos that I honestly can not.

This is by far one of the most amazing hotels that I have stayed in! I will be back! There was an amazing selection for breakfast from food that you can just grab and go if you have a busy day ahead of you or hot foods that you can just sit down and eat and enjoy the company of the people you are with. The rooms were spectacular given the places age. The rooms were also so clean. Way to go housekeeping! The front desk staff was so kind and helpful. Helping with any questions I had. They are so well versed on the history of the hotel! Maintenance was always doing something around the hotel and was always kind and helpful when we passed by him. 10/10 for me!!!!
