Best Western Plus Springfield Airport Inn

This was the nicest Best Western we have ever stayed at. Breakfast was hot, not overcooked or dried out even at one half hour before closing down. The variety was great. All the help was very friendly and helpful. I wish all Best Westerns were this nice.

I’ve become partial to Best Westerns. They are a bit low key and appear to be friendlier. But, this is a chain hotel much like others. The difference is staff, Emma at the front desk most pleasant. Our room is pretty standard – king bed, built-in bed tables, credenza with mini-fridge and microwave writing desk with chair and an easy chair/ottoman in the corner. Unfortunately their business center isn't operable. We had wanted to print off our boarding passes, but couldn't. Off the Best Western lobby is a small breakfast room with a few tables in the middle and breakfast fixings at one end. It had the usual chain hotel fare – scrambled eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, OJ, coffee and a yogurt machine. Awfully generic. But it got us going. The charger is publicly listed on Google Maps and branded as a Tesla Destination Charger, marked as “open 24 hours,” with no visible signage indicating guest-only use or restrictions. I relied on that public representation, as any reasonable EV driver would. At no point was I informed over “several days,” nor did I repeatedly ignore staff. That claim is simply not accurate. When I was told the charger was for guests only, I left immediately. There was no refusal to leave. Police involvement did occur, and it happened instead of clear signage or a simple, professional explanation at the outset. Positive: Shower pressure was great!! Negative: Smelled too clean like a lemony cleaner smell. While im happy the room was clean i am sensitive to smells and didnt like this.

This hotel advertises a Tesla Destination Charger as open and available 24 hours. It is publicly listed on Google Maps and clearly branded as a Tesla charger. Based on that representation, I arrived briefly to charge. What I found was not some premium amenity. The charger itself is a piece of junk. It is visibly worn and missing components, which already makes it questionable whether it should be advertised at all. If you’re going to list EV charging as an amenity, at least maintain the equipment instead of leaving a half-functional unit bolted to the wall.
