Best Western Plus Media Center Inn & Suites

When I arrived the manager was very friendly and helpful. He even got my room ready for check in early. I thought my room was cozy. However at night I went to get water from the vending machine and it was out of order. When I asked about it the next day I was told it was supposed to be removed over a year ago. The downstairs vending machine worked but was half empty and also had no water available. The breakfast bar had good options.....but... the eggs and sausage were not up to Serv Safe holding temps. When you ate them you could tell they were warmed up but no longer warm. Additionally, if you are taller than 5"7" you might not fit under the shower head to wash your hair.

Overall atmosphere: Boring, quiet. Hotel was almost empty. Security: Questionable. The garage, elevator room, and stairs and not locked, even at night. You don’t need a key card to get in the hotel. They said it’s a safe area and to be fair I didn’t see a single potential “bad guy” hanging out in that whole area. Might still feel better having the doors locked and needing a key to get in, or go through the lobby. Breakfast: Tasted a bit off, bagels stale. Price: Cheapest in area. Parking free. Walkability: Good. Street is lined with restaurants. Need to drive to any grocery stores though. Cleanliness: Okay. The ice bucket was moldy. I cleaned it with Clorox wipes I brought. The shower was perfectly clean but for some reason it had maybe a 6 foot ceiling and the shower head is at about

Positive: The location Negative: I would mention that the vending machines didn’t work (both that we tried when trying to get water), and staff wasn’t very friendly and/or welcoming.

The gentleman at the front desk was very nice during check-in and the room had a fridge, microwave and hair dryer. They offer free underground parking which was very nice and it's walking distance to several restaurants. Unfortunately that's where the good points end. Upon entering the room the A/C was off and it was 86°F. The desktop and one of the nightstands were dirty and the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. The sink didn't properly drain and the toilet wouldn't flush properly.

Great location and free parking, but that's about it. Awesome auto coffee machine, but it was broken without any sense of urgency to fix it. So, in addition to paying for breakfast in our room rate, we had to go across the street and get coffee at $15 each day for the same specialty coffee that we should be able to get from the hotel from a working machine. They freeze the cream cheese, which is fine for baking when the texture doesn't matter, but for spreading on toast or bagels, frozen cream cheese takes on a yucky texture. The mattress was lumpy as were the pillows. Overall, your basic 1 to 2 star joint dressed up in a corporate name with corporate prices. Not sure how it got 4 stars. Would not stay here again.
