Best Western Plus Hilltop Inn

Just hit the road again, and have to leave a review before I forget! It’s been YEARS since I’ve stayed in a Best Western, and this property was fantastic. Every staff member we met was SO sweet and helpful, the room was extremely clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was actually great. We had our dog with us for the stay, too! To be honest I have stupid high expectations for hotels, and I was so impressed.

The room was dirty. There were debris and a plastic wrapper on the floor. There was a piece of dirt / leaf debris between the bed sheets. |An outlet near the bed was broken and unsafe and unusable. One of the towels had been used and not replaced. There was no microwave and no glass cups or mugs -- just plastic and paper. The mattress was lumpy, and it sagged significantly to the middle of the bed. It clearly should have been replaced years ago. |I saw what appeared to be a car prowler in the parking lot. A man was checking car doors. When he saw me watching, he hid behind a couple of large containers. I reported it to one of the security guards.|For a Best Western Plus, I was gravely disappointed. Positive: Very clean rooms. Friendly staff. Negative: The location was easy to find but was worried about the area. They do have security to patrol the parking lot.

I originally left a 5-star review because the rooms here are very nice, updated, and extremely clean. The pool area is beautiful with plenty of seating, and we loved spending time there during the day. However, our experience completely changed at night. There was a large roller hockey tournament in town and many people staying at the hotel had propped open the pool gate to allow friends who were not guests to come in. A large group began partying by the pool for hours. They rearranged furniture for a pizza party, were drinking beer and bringing glass wine bottles into the pool area, which is typically not allowed for safety reasons. There was loud foul language, pizza and pepperoni left all over the pool deck, and even kids eating pizza in the hot tub — we actually found pepperoni float

The rooms are recently renovated! The outside looks sketch but the rooms are modern now and very comfy. I had a pet friendly room and it was very clean. There's a dog area with grass in the back too. The EV chargers work fantastic and are very affordable! Find them on Plugshare. The onsite restaurant is a really really good too! Never seen a nice restaurant attached to a best western before lol.
