Best Western Plus Grand Manor Inn

Considering we booked late and arrived late we didn't exactly have high hopes for a room suited for our needs. But, yep! That's precisely what we got! A big, clean, and amenity-filled room. Mahalo Best Western Plus!!

This hotel was perfect-sited for us to travel on the scenic highways from the east and returned home straight all the way via Interstate Highway 5. Its atmosphere was nice, grand, and friendly. The room was so clean and its bathroom was quite clean. Its value was reasonable for this autumn peak. It was quiet in the area away from the busy distant interstate highway. The service was excellent as the receptionist was helpful to fix the captions on TV in our suite. We enjoyed every moment to stay overnight with sweet dreams!

Do not arrive before 3pm or they will assess a $30 “strictly enforced hotel policy” fee. We arrived 22 minutes early and would have been subject to the fee, so opted to wait in our vehicle until it was convenient for them. (The hotel was not busy and Housekeeping had completed their daily routines.). The hotel was clean, nicely decorated and the room was large and well-appointed. But the check-in rule made for a lousy first impression.

Absolutely love this hotel! Very clean and rooms are spacious. Staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good too!

Based on our experience with BW Plus hotels in other communities, we expected a lot better. The staff were very nice, but the room and amenities fell short. The ice maker on our floor was broken. The light over the bathtub was burned out, the pillows were lumpy, the towels were skimpy, the pipes rattled and pounded when we ran the hot water in the sink, and the surprisingly low-resolution TV was “too complicated for us to make an instruction sheet” according to one employee who had to shift some HDMI cables around to get it to operate properly. It would have been nice to be able to plug in the coffee maker where it was located instead of having to move it to the desk to use an available power outlet.
