Best Western Plus Beckley Inn

Before I comment on the hotel itself I want to take the time to say the manager Mandy was a delightful person and we had excellent customer service. It was a pleasure to meet her and she deserves a raise or bonus. We checked in took the elevator up to our room. The elevator smelled like dog. And it had paw prints on the floor. When we got to our room everything was clean outside until we entered the room. The central heating was super loud, I thought we were in an old boiler room. The heating unit had foot prints on top of it. It was dirty like someone stood on it trying to fix something. We then checked our beds as a precaution for bedbugs like we always do and we discovered hair and blood stain on my son’s sheets. I called the manager (Mandy) and she apologized, and bought fresh linen

While the hotel was clean, and the staff very friendly and competent, the rooms and public areas are a bit tired. It's nestled in with other hotels, nearby gas station, and overall location is good. Safe. The breakfast is sad, even for a typical hotel continental. If the price was lower, especially given that it's January, would have made a difference. For a quick stop over, it checked the box.

Positive: the cleanliness everywhere, lobby, room, breakfast area. didn't go to pool or fitness center so don't know about those. but even the hallways looked clean and didn't smell musty or smokeing violators Negative: the price

We had a great stay in Beckley. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet and spacious room. The Breakfast girl was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast room was bright and large. The front desk lady, who was great, I wish I could remember her name, gave us great recommendations for dinner. A lot of chain restaurants around the hotel, Outback Steakhouse, next door, gave us a 10% discount because we were staying next door. Great meal. We ate at two non-chain restaurants within 10 minutes from the hotel that were very good. We were in the area to visit the New River Gorge National Park, so this location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Such a nice clean large breakfast area! I looked forward to meeting face-to-face the manager who had been so kind and helpful twice over the phone prior to our arrival. However she was not on duty during our check-in or check-out but the other staff who helped us were equally as kind and helpful. I had taken a fall just prior to our arrival and we checked in of an evening. I asked if they had any Band-Aids in their store. The clerk got me some from the hotels first aid box. They also gave me extra plastic trash bags to ice my wrist that was swelling. What a blessing. We liked out room and the view. We slept well and it was just a positive experience.
