Best Western Bennington

Stayed here while working in the area. Was supposed to be a 3 night stay but ended up cancelling the last 2 days due to issues with the room. It had an initial cigarette odor that got horrible after a shower I didn't want to take. The toilet seat had a crack all the way through, fridge smelled like something died in it, the shower had 2 large cracks in the walls, the shower head was crusty with hard water stains, the drain wasn't clean and there were long brown hairs everywhere. I did report the fridge and toilet seat to the staff who said they'd fix it and they weren't surprised when I mentioned the smell. Staff gave my company a hard time when they cancelled the remaining two days claiming we didn't give them time to fix the problems, not that they could have fixed the smell. These units

Usually don’t leave bad reviews but feel others should know! Front desk person was nice but overwhelmed! Cleaning crew was very nice and hard working! Location is convenient but if you want quiet, the lot behind the hotel was full of loud cars idling and revving engines all night. Worst part? The room. No hairdryer, fridge was completely broken, shower took forever to get hot water and all night battled with mosquitos inside the room! Bed was very comfortable though!

This hotel is very run-down, to say the least. My room had an odd entry--shared with another room in a corner of the building. The room was very small and dark, and the floorboards were sagging as I walked across the floor. Owing to the size, they jammed a desk under one window next to the entry door, then wedged a unit with a fridge and microwave between the desk and bed, blocking the door to the adjoining room. That unit with the refrigerator was not secured to the floor or wall, and rather unstable. The bathroom was quite small as well. In all the entire room had a very shabby and musty feel to it. 'Old' is being polite. ||Location-wise, it's not that great either. It's located well outside the downtown area, in a bit of a dodgy commercial street. They do have a large parking

Not the greatest. I booked a handicapped room to have grab bars to help get in and out of the tub (bad knee). Checked in on a Thursday, reported that the tub drain lever was frozen shut ... could not shut it off to fill the tub. ||No one showed up until after 5 p.m. on Friday (!) and the maintenance person, extremely nice, did not know where they kept parts (she was recently brought in by new owners to fix problems). I complained to front desk, to a woman who acted as if she didn't care who lived or died.
