The Austin Motel is a very fun stay. Located right in the middle of all the action, it’s a fun idea: an old motel converted into a nice hotel. We stayed in a king suite overlooking the pool. Not too much to look at, but is a nice room. Check-in was easy and the person who checked us in was very helpful. The room itself is somewhat basic, with a lot of fun design details that harken back to its old motel roots. The pool is heated and beautiful. There was also a party one day that was a lot of fun with drag queens singing and dancing. Comfortable bed, big bathroom and everything we needed was there. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Great location along south congress! Awesome staff, clean and cozy room. Clean!! Love the pool as well. Will definitely consider again when in Austin!!
My husband had a meeting and I tagged (because I love Austin) along but ended up being his chauffer for the trip. The motel was super-cute online; my hubs was really surprised and I was not disappointed. The room was so cute and we were please with the quality of the mattress and bedding, welcome note with mineral water. The place has such a retro feel; she's not an old girl trying to look new, but definitely fresh and fun.
I brought my 3 children (10, 11, and 15) on a surprise trip to visit Austin. I have never visited before but after doing research the Austin Motel seems like a good spot to stay. I was not wrong! My kids thought it was so cool, from the lobby to the walkways of light and Christmas trees. Our room was cozy and we loved the in room robes. Front desk was helpful and I was able to text my needs (I needed a steamer!) and they texted right back and brought one up! We walked around South congress and over the bridge to downtown. Everything was available! Highly recommend.
Thin walls, thin door, easily hear noise. Front desk service was great. View was good. There is an early checkout penalty which is dumb. NO gym. NOT a good hotel for business travel. Good I suppose for regular tourism.
