Archer Hotel Old Town Alexandria

This hotel is in a convenient location, it is clean and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is convenient for traveling via train/metro. We enjoyed dinner and brunch at the two different attached restaurants. Do NOT miss breakfast/brunch—it was delicious! There is a lovely lounge area in the lobby, which was comfortable as we waited out a train delay. Our room was next to the elevator, but we did not hear it or people/voices entering or exiting the elevator. I appreciated the size of the bathroom counter space and shower. I had requested feather free bedding due to allergies and this was taken care of prior to our arrival (I received a prompt response via email and this request was acknowledged at check in, which was much appreciated). This was a disappointing stay. The Archer bought out another hotel and updated it to add to their portfolio. We moved to this hotel from their three star hotel in Falls Church to be closer to our son. We had a better quality experience in the 3 star. They forgot to give us the $25 coupon to use in either of the two restaurants so on our last day when we had breakfast we were told we needed it and lost out. They didn’t replace the coffee or cups one day, they didn’t replace the glassware the next day. We requested a top sheet to be added to our bedding instead of just the duvet and they left it on top of the bed so we had to pull the bed apart and add it ourselves. Tucked off of King Street with a nice quiet courtyard you find this modern boutique hotel. Interior is all new, clean and very well maintained. Staff were exceptionally welcoming, helpful, and happily accommodated my requests. Great breakfast restaurant off the lobby. Room was large and well furnished. Overall great hotel !!!!

Positive: Layout, spacious room, friendly staff, cleanliness, and wide spacious shower with separate tub. Negative: I liked everything, including convenience of free parking after 9pm directly across from the hotel entrance.

The TV was pretty dated, not a smart TV. It was pretty disappointing, about 20 basic channels and no ability to connect for"smart"options, bring a tablet, it will be a better experience. The bathroom was more than spacious but it seemed a bit out of place. Two shower heads that didn't overlap, a large bench to I guess sit in the shower that wasn't reached by the water, not sure why. It seemed luxurious without the actual luxury. If I had two other people in the shower with me it would have made sense. The bedding was better than most places, down comforter and pillows. Room service was at par but the complimentary "treats" should consider diabetics, and could use an upgrade.
