Americas Best Value Inn Mount Vernon

What a nice experience. From our initial call to check out everything was exactly what we needed for a quick overnight on our travels. The rooms are certainly dated, but absolutely clean and comfortable. The staff are all lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was fresh but all dry items, some fruit boiled eggs and yogurt would have been nice. The owners only took over three months ago so I can imagine it will only get better. Also! It was $30 cheaper then any of the others around!

This was the worst hotel ever for a handicapped person! Spent one night in July. Checked into the room at night and the young lady told us that we had room 104. Get the TV to work so went to call the front desk to find out why and the phone didn’t work. Walk to the front desk and was told how to work the TV but it didn’t work still. No smoke alarm in the room has been gutted out of the wall. Went to bed anyway TV turned itself on three times in the middle of the night. Got up in the morning and put my handicap mother into the shower and as she was about to sit down, I realized the chair was about to break. She is not overweight. Took her back out of the shower and realized there was a grab bar on the back wall but not on the sidewall so I had to hold her entire 180 pounds. forfeited the sh

The host Ash was very accommodating. The new owners have made the place a very pleasant and welcoming place. The rooms are cleaned and the lobby was spiffy the breakfast area was clean and fresh everything good coffee.. It was a pleasant stay in good service and I'll be back next time I come through town.. My girl and I both really enjoyed the stay.

Positive: How easily accessible it was from the highway. Negative: The air conditioner leaked and made the carpet wet. It smelled musty and a little bit like stale cigarette (no smoking room). The beds were extremely uncomfortable and there was water damage on the ceiling above the tub.

Honestly a very nice experience for a cheap little motel! The staff is very friendly, the rooms were clean and seem like they’ve been lightly upgraded recently, and the water runs nice and hot. You are located right beside a gas station and a Hardee’s, not to mention if you don’t mind a little walk there’s more fast food and a Kroger nearby. Complementary breakfast was basic, but nice. My only real complaint was that the TV guide was not correct for the channels and the channel offering I scrolled through was a little limited, but you’ve got your basics there’s too. Parking seems a little limited, but they are very accommodating. I would say if you are traveling with multiple vehicles give them a courtesy call to confirm they have the space. Overall, a nice, cheap little stay!
