Adobe Inn

Balcony with ocean view room was lovely, can watch the sunset from the balcony. Rooms have fireplaces as well. We didn't need it, but would be fantastic in winter. With the balcony door open you cam hear the ocean which was so nice. Only a few blocks from the main street. Very quiet location. Great under cover parking. There is an elevator if you require that. Our stay at the Adobe Inn in Carmel-by-the-Sea was truly wonderful! This charming inn is in an unbeatable location, just steps away from downtown’s picturesque streets, boutiques, art galleries, and excellent restaurants. It made exploring Carmel incredibly easy and fun.||Our room exceeded all expectations. It was spacious and beautifully laid out, featuring a cozy living room, a huge bedroom with two comfortable queen-size beds, and two full bathrooms — such a rare and welcome convenience. Even better, we had two private balconies where we could relax, sip coffee, and enjoy the fresh coastal air.||While this isn’t a five-star luxury hotel, we also weren’t paying $1,000 a night — and honestly, the value is outstanding for what you get. Location is tough to beat. There is a bit of a hill walking back from the beach but not bad. It’s close to all the restaurants and shopping of Carmel and a few blocks down from La Playa. The rooms are huge compared to the standard of more modern hotels. There isn’t food service, and turn down service needs to be requested. Price and size of rooms are excellent. Worth it for the value and location.

Check-in with Jean was quick and friendly — she made us feel right at home. One charming touch is that the Adobe Inn still uses traditional keys instead of electronic cards. It adds to the cozy, classic feel of the place and makes it stand out from modern chain hotels.
