Yurtin' On Keuka

I normally don’t leave bad reviews but I feel I have to give a fair warning to people prior to booking this property. My boyfriend and I were excited to spend a weekend “glamping” and staying in a yurt for the first time. While this would have both of our first times in a yurt we’ve stayed in similar accommodations and had very reasonable expectations. To put it lightly, the air bnb listing and pictures did not meet the expectations or match the actual property at all. Upon arriving, you arrive to the back of the property to see an uncleaned yurt and overgrown property. The stairs leading to the yurt were questionable and there were cobwebs and a broken chair on the deck. The door to the yurt was not secure at all due to a broken weather strip which posed a safety concern for us. The wate

I’ve stay at dozens of similar properties and this was the worst by a mile. Seth is the least professional host I’ve ever met. He has zero concern about guest experience as evidenced by the completely overgrown exterior, broken front door, water damaged walls, and broken couch. We reached out promptly after arriving to let him know we left and request a refund. He argued over petty issues and refuses to refund the money. Fortunately Airbnb saw our side and gave us the money back. I would never recommend this property or any others owned by Seth.

We truly had an amazing time during our Glamping experience with Yurtin' On Keuka! Seth was wonderful and easy for us to work with. We found the description and pictures to be an accurate description. The yurt was well kept, clean (a cob web here and there when staying in the wood in a yurt is to be expected), comfortable, and well equipped. When we did leave the yurt, we really enjoyed: Watkins Glen, Casa Mezcal, and Sans Dumplings! A few tips to make your experience a bit easier: -READ the welcome manual! -Bring your own drinking/cooking water (showering and washing things the water is just fine!) -Bring an extra cooler for food storage as a preventative for potential mice (we never saw a single one) -Bring a portable grill, there is ability to cook inside but we used a portable grill

Had a great trip while staying in this unique yurt, but would not book a future trip at this yurt or any of the other many nearby properties run by this host. A few things I wanted other folks to be aware of prior to visiting. . .The water is non-potable and smells strongly of sulphur. If this doesn’t bother you, you’re all set, but if it does, just know that you need to plan ahead and bring gallons of water with you for pseudo-showering, cooking, drinking, brushing teeth, etc. As other reviewers on the AirBnB listing have noted, well water is subject to whatever geologic influences happen to be around the well head, so I’m well aware that a new well wouldn’t solve anything. My husband and I reserved this Yurt for 2 nights Memorial Day week. We are originally from the area and were looking forward to a relaxing couple of days being back in the Finger Lakes. Unfortunately, the experience was not what we had anticipated. Let me say that we have stayed in similar lodgings previously, so I feel that we had reasonable expectations. Firstly, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the yurt had not been properly cleaned. Wanting to make the best of it, we spent some time sweeping, wiping counters/glass table tops and removing cobwebs from the ceiling. Got ourselves unpacked and ventured outside. The area around the picnic table was completely overgrown with weeds so we decided to sit on the little deck. Except one of the 2 chairs was broken, so bac
