XIT Ranch Motel

I booked a one-night stay in advance using Hotels.com. The property was specifically advertised on that website as having "24 hour check-in." I also called about two hours before I arrived to further verify that someone would be available to check me in at the desk even though I was coming in at 11 PM. I was told there would be. When I arrived, the lobby was locked and no one was at the desk. There were two doorbells; I rang both several times, and knocked, but nobody showed up. I also called several times from my cell and I could hear their phone ringing inside. After about 20 minutes, I gave up and left to get a room at the Econo Lodge across the street. If you're weary from a long drive and need an inexpensive hotel to sleep... XIT is the place to go. No frills... but a very clean room with a comfortable bed! Why go to a place with a pool and other amenities you won't use (remember... if you don't use them, you still pay for them!), when all you want to do is sleep before getting back on the road? The management staff was so friendly and walked us to our room... then asked us if the room was satisfactory. Customer Service is a big on on my list and the folks at XIT hit it! Don't let the age or look of the exterior scare you away... like I said, our room was clean, odorless and our bed was super comfy! We woke up refreshed and were ready to get back on the road!

I read the reviews before I rented a room here. Was a bit uneasy after reading, but parked at the truck stop across the street, and wanted to get out of the truck. Price is good. No bugs anywhere that I can see. The lady up front was really nice. I asked if there was an ice machine and she says no. No biggie. Well, less than 2 minutes after I walk in my room, the phone rings, and she asks me to come to the office. She grabbed a bag of ice from her own freezer and proceeds to put it in a container for me. Good value for the money. Cozy bed. Fridge, micro. Not bad at all.

Amazingly clean, I am telling you this room was clean! Customer service was off the chart, the clerk offered to walk us to our room. As we were unloading our luggage, he came by and asked us if everything was ok. Way more than what we expected. We were just looking for a cheap place to sleep. The amenities are what you would expect for the price, but the cleanliness and also the large rooms are way worth the stay. I would stay again.

The motel itself wasn't much to look at, but the owners are what made the stay worth it. I was having to stay the night to replace my water pump. The owner took me to the auto parts store and after I got back I realized I needed something else from the store. Instead of driving me he handed me his keys. Couldn't have asked to be broken down around better people. There was no continental breakfast, pool, or WiFi. It didn't matter. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. Also, there weren't any critters running about. I'd stay again if I even need a motel in the area.
