Rita Blanca Campground & Park

Spend a nice quiet night while traveling from Dallas/Fort Worth to Colorado Springs. Due to a snowstorm shutting down Hwy 64, we relaxed in this city park with 8 rv sites. $30 for 30/50, water and sewage Passing through $5 to dump and water

Place to hang your hat when you had too much time behind the wheel. $15 cash or check in a simple envelope put into onsite metal box. No frills but 8 Spots on gravel (not level) with ELECTRIC, some have water. Community Center with bathrooms. Park closes at 10pm, don't know if they lock after that. Nice lake with no obvious put in for kayak or paddleboarding. Beautiful unobstructed view of the sunset. Dumas has free sites but I wanted to try this place and I was tired of driving.

Stopped here for a night when I traveled from Dallas to Denver and needed a/c to sleep comfortably in my airstream. $30/night is a bargain for the area (Love's is $60 with all the road noise and view of gas pumps). It's not far off the main road but still quiet enough to get plenty of rest to get back on the road early the next morning. I felt completely safe as a solo female traveler. I'll be stopping thru again on the way back!

It was very nice, well maintained and quiet. Beautiful park, very large. The One downside was there seems to be some shady things going on in the area by the lake. Husband is a retired cop and noticed the same car "hanging out" more than once. Maybe some police driving through would be good.

No frills. Price is now $30 for full hook-ups. Looks like they are going to expand. The lake has a nice path around it and the park has a playground and a disc park.
