WorldMark Kona

If you can get past the sales pitch, it's not a bad place. The rooms were clean but none of the cabinet doors close, there was a musty smell until we opened things up, and the main door had a big gap at the threshold. Other than that it's not a bad walk to town or beach.

First off...I thought we were booking next door: the one that looks like little huts and all cute and stuff......NOPE. Anyway: Resort was fine...upset that Wyndhams are just so so...we traveled to other resorts on Kona: all on the beach and beautiful. Our #1 complaint here: EVERY DAY WE WERE CALLED TO ATTEND THIS UPDATE...EVEN BULLIED "Your account is flagged....it'll be really hard for you to do any further bookings". So I asked "So you're telling me that they can take away my ownership and not let me book anything if I don't attend this????"... She states: "Your account has been flagged, and that's why they reached out to you before you came so yes"....I repeated myself: "FIRST OF ALL...NOBODY REACHED OUT TO ME ABOUT ANYTHING....BUT YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT I PAID CASH FOR THIS OWNERSHIP

I first have to say how much appreciated not being hassled into attending a “meeting for a free stay” by the Worldmark staff. Check it was quick and easy! The resort itself is nice enough. Nothing over the top. The rooms are standard Worldmark decorated and comfortable for a couple. The pool area is nice. Unfortunately, the hot tub was cool the first day we used it. It was fixed at some point because on the last day it was hot! You can hear people walking in the rooms above you so, bring some sort of white noise and earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. The rooms also have all sorts of electronic “lights” so I recommend an eye mask if you’re light sensitive like me. Be warned: PAID INTERNET, $50 per week. Otherwise not much to complain about here, the suites are very spacious and pretty well taken care of, it was no problem fitting in a family of 4 comfortably. They provide cookware and laundry soap and all the other stuff you need, really helpful to be able to wash your own clothes and cook some meals when you need to, rather than have to go out hunting for restaurants every time. The staff are really helpful, and Nani in particular went out of her way to be kind. Within walking distance to the waterfront area of Kona, although a little on the long side. One thing we did notice was that it started to stink like dead fish in the middle of the night out in the main room, which we traced to the drain by the water heater in the utility closet. We were able to check in early and the dude was super chill. Digging it. The location didn’t have a lot of in house amenities but appeared to be decently kept up with maintenance. We weren’t too bothered by the attempted to nail us down for an upscale appointment, especially since I kept “forgetting” to stop by the office.
