Shell Vacations Club Holua Resort at the Mauna Loa Village

Realistically id give it a 3.5/5. The room was great but in need of some updates, which we were told was currently underway in some of the units and spaces around the property. Location is right next to the outrigger resort, close to food options and activites. Having stayed in both hotels, if I could have it my way id choose the rooms at Holua with the amenities at the outrigger. Our room was in building 20 which is quite a walk from the parking garage. People in golf carts helped us get to our room when they were available but it wasnt always the case. The biggest mark down for me was our check in process. The front desk lady was nice and quick, but after we were given our keys, we were told to get our welcome package from the desk behind us. Turns out they had prescheduled us into atten

Great resort, they have more amenities than we need. Staffs are super friendly and helpful. My wife lost her rings when we checked out. The hotel found them and sent them back to us via ileftmystuff. We appreciated this greatly. We could've suffered a big loss if they didn't find them.

We loved our stay at this resort. We each had our own room with our own bathrooms and televisions.||Upstairs was a nice living room, full kitchen, balcony, and additional bathroom. We also had a washer and dryer.||We loved the little welcoming ceremony offered by the local child dancers. They did amazing and were so adorable!||There are multiple pools, so if you're like us and don't want to share with strangers, you can walk to one that is vacant if the one closest to you has people already using it.||The room was clean and every staff member we encountered was very kind. This hotel exceeded our expectation! The staff was very friendly and helpful, even though they don't do daily housekeeping, they can provide you anything you ask them for like towels and even toothpaste! It's very close to those snorkeling sites which makes it a great place to live if you have early or late snorkeling trips. The rooms are spacious and well kept and no cockroaches! But as others had mentioned, the rooms are a bit outdated and could use some renovation (but seems like they will be remodeling them in 2026!) For a reasonable price, this is a great place to stay!
