Royal Aloha Vacation Club - Kona

Beautiful place to stay. We had a two bedroom condo with 2 bathrooms. It was very spacious. Had all the ammentities and a full kitchen with all the gadgets. There's a grocery store, .movie theater, drug store and several eateries just up the street. The beach is in walking distance. The only negative thing I can say is the check in process was very slow. Standing outside of the very small office in the sun was no fun.

The condo literally came with everything you would ever need, even some food. It had surfboards, towels, bedsheets, everything. The pool was great, and I was really impressed. The only minor problem I had were that there were a LOT of cockroaches outside, but that wasn't a problem for people that stayed inside. Thumbs up!

My wife and another couple stayed in unit 9104 from June 19-26 and we were inundated with roaches from the outset. When management was informed they said they were due to spray in July which didn't help us. We stored our food in the refrigerator, even chips and sprayed RAID each evening. The day before we left we killed over 20 roaches and when our friends returned home they brought one home with them in their suitcase. When I spoke to the manager before we left he said he was aware of the problem and when I asked why he gave us this unit his response was "are you threatening me?" I said I had I right to warn people of what they could expect in his complex. Be aware and careful before you stay at this site.

Aside from a couple minor hiccups at the start, the rest of the stay was great. Nice pool and tennis courts. Grateful air conditioning was installed recently. Surprised no hot tub, though it was too hot this time of year for one.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and enjoyed every minute. The units were recently renovated with new furniture. There are 2 wall air conditioning units as well as a portable fan. They have a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of things to use at the beach: boogie board, pool noodles, camping chairs, umbrella, bucket of tools for making sand castles. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit. Liberty, the staff member is welcoming, knowledgeable and super helpful. Definitely will return. The location is right on the beach and is close to Kailua-Kona. The last picture was the view from our lanai on the first night.
