Hale Maluhia Country Inn (House of Peace)

The “house of peace” sure lives up to its name. Our family of 6 has stayed in this same inn twice now and it has become our go-to destination for our trips to the Big Island! You will get more than just a normal stay here, Dave and Miriam are attentive hosts that treat their guests like family with genuine care and respect. They’re also amazing with their recommendations during your visit and always provide such great insight to make your stay that much more rich and memorable. We highly recommend this beautiful inn! Ps.. The daily morning Kona Coffee served here is just amazing.. something we look forward to upon waking up each morning!

This was our second stay in the house of peace! We loved it again…. Quiet and clean… Great location about 3 miles above Kona. Dave and Miriam treated us like royalty and their kindness will not be forgotten. We will stay there again!

It was so amazing! There was so many sounds of wilderness around the area, we missed it very much in all other islands! All you need is in common area, we have breakfast and dinner there and it was just amazing! If we ever consider toreturn to Big Island - it will be our number one option!

If you're considering coming to Kona, I would highly recommend this Inn!! My husband and I came to Hawaii for our honeymoon this August. Hale Maluhia Country Inn was the PERFECT destination for us! We stayed in the Banyan Tree Cottage. It was idyllic in every way; a private parking spot by the door, plenty of space with a beautiful bed, a living room with TV and couches, a mini kitchen, a large bathtub, and a private porch with an ocean view! Located in the hills above Kona, this location is refreshingly slightly cooler than the hot coast, while being a close drive to either the coffee farms or the beach. Dave and Miriam are wonderful hosts, always taking care to welcome you when you arrive, replace towels when needed, and provide coffee and a mini breakfast in the communal area every morn

The feral chickens here are LOUD so accept the bedside earplugs. This is 100% doable via Uber without a car at all. When Lyft works it's way cheaper but you cannot count on it
