Wood Haven Lodge

We have rented the Wood Haven Lodge for 2 weeks every summer for the past 4 years. We love going back each year! We feel like it is our home away from home. The house is beautiful, well maintained and spotless. The kitchen cupboards are well stocked with everything you could imagine you might need for cooking or grilling. The house is on Nelson Lake which is a gorgeous Wisconsin lake. We love to boat, swim and see the wildlife including loons and eagles. Downtown Hayward is close by and offers everything you need including stores, nice restaurants, coffee shops and even an ice cream shop. Wood Haven Lodge was the perfect fall getaway. This was our second visit to Wood Haven this year and our first staying in the lodge. Both times, Martha and Dennis provided exceptional hospitality with the most beautifully appointed accommodations. The lodge has everything you could possibly ask for. We enjoyed the canoe and kayak, exploring the beautiful fall colors on Nelson Lake and bass fishing right off the dock. Multiple state parks are nearby with short hikes to some of the best waterfalls in Wis. At night, the Lodge features everything you need for a campfire. They also have a big screen TV/theater room for relaxing on the off chance it rains. Our family has become regulars and is already looking forward to our next stay!

Lodge was impeccably cleaned before our arrival. Owners are clearly very detail oriented as evidenced by the fact that the place is very well stocked and equipped, with clear and concise instructions for finding and using all of the various furnishings. Lovely location very near the town of Hayward, one of my personally favorite vacation spots. Overall a very beautiful, well cared for property on a very nice northern Wisconsin lake. Would be happy to revisit again with friends and family.

My wife and I stayed at the cottage this summer and then recently returned to enjoy the fall colors. Great place to get away from it all, a very quiet and relaxing place on the lake. The owners have the cottage well furnished and they take wonderful care of it, very clean. Martha and Dennis greeted us upon are arrival, explained how every thing worked and where items were located making it easy to begin enjoying our get away. We rented their Pontoon boat for the stay and used it to fish and take several trips around the lake. We surely will return to this hidden treasure.

We have stayed at Woodhaven Lodge in both the Summer and Fall and both times were fantastic. The Summer stay involved great boating, fishing, swimming and visiting nearby Hayward. Our 2 young kids loved fishing off the dock! For our Fall trip we enjoyed boating and a day trip to Amnicon Falls about an hour north of Hayward. The falls and trails were beautiful! Martha and Dennis are fantastic hosts and provide anything and everything you could possibly need for a cabin getaway. We highly recommend a stay at Woodhaven for the perfect northern Wisconsin vacation.
