We stayed 2 nights and extended another; had experienced two different rooms. Both rooms we stayed were simple but clean. They were also quiet at night. The hotel is within walking distance to Bar Harbor and that was our main form of transportation. Do note there is Island Explorer bus service right on hotel grounds, it is fast and free. You can also rent bikes in Bar Harber and use it to commute since this hotel is on the way to the Carriage Road. Breakfast was not included but you'll receive discount lunch coupons at their restaurant. The front desks were mostly helpful and friendly. Only complaint is no vents in bathrooms, you have to open windows. There was also no hand soap, which I believe is a necessity in modern day hotels. Laundry room does not have coin/bill changers, you have to
The motel is part of a larger resort with multiple buildings and plenty of amenities. Old style motel feel which I love. Pulling the car up to the door of the room is how it should be. Anyways, the room was clean and the view was incredible. Downtown is walkable and there is a bus service. It would be harder to get this kind of view staying in town.
Our stay was great. Great location to Bar Harbor. Our room had the best view of the entire hotel. Room #66. The pianist was talented and wonderful. The indoor pool was clean and our children loved it. Laundry facilities were convenient. Great to be on the shuttle bus stop too. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
All I want to say is DO NOT stay in the Livingston Building. My husband, son and I stayed there for two nights. The room has the old house smell, and every time we turned on the heater during the two October nights we stayed, the power went out. They sent us an old fashioned floor heater that has lower power consumption but we did not dare to turn it on because our 1 year old would go touch the heat dissipater and burn himself.
I went on vacation to Bar Harbor with my two sons (18 and 20 years old) and my sister-in-law. I picked this hotel due to the location just outside of town, very quiet at night. The Bluenose Inn next door is affiliated with this hotel and you can use their amenities (outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub and sauna). There were many positives about this hotel. We stayed in the Ocean View Building (room 68) on the second floor, 2 king beds in one room, a queen bed in an adjoining room, one bathroom. We had a beautiful deck with 4 chairs with stunning view of the harbor. The beds, linens and pillows were extremely comfortable. Fresh towels were provided daily by maid staff and light housekeeping. Our room had a full side refrigerator and microwave, and a Keurig machine. A/C worked great
