Island Place

My wife and I spent over a year planning our fall foliage trip to Maine, and discovering Island Place was truly the highlight. This locally-owned gem exceeded every expectation! From the moment we arrived, the owner greeted us personally and made us feel like family. The hospitality was outstanding – fresh hot coffee always available, insider recommendations for restaurants, and fantastic suggestions for activities beyond Acadia National Park. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests' experience. Location is unbeatable: We easily walked to downtown Bar Harbor's incredible restaurants and shops (just a few blocks!), saving on parking while soaking in the charm of the area. It's also perfectly positioned close to Acadia National Park. The room was immaculate – seriously spotless.

We did a lot of research before coming to Bar Harbor and due to the great reviews here in TA we chose it for four nights. Glad we did!||As soon as i parked I was amazed by the beautiful flower garden in front of the hotel. Hydrangea, liatris, beach grasses...all arranged so beautifully! What a welcome!||Checking in was easy and Maureen (?) gave us an overview of the area along with a special map with recommended restaurants. Nice way to start our visit.||Our room was 106 with a king-sized bed that gave us wonderful sleep times. The room was immaculate, seemingly brand new. In fact the entire place seems brand new. But, it's not. They did a complete remodel a few years back and they've maintained it like new ever since. I don't know how they do it...maybe they repaint after every

Our stay at this property was excellent. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, providing a very comfortable experience. The front desk staff demonstrated outstanding professionalism, being both courteous and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. The location is just steps away from restaurants, the harbor, and local shops. And only six-minute drive to Acadia National Park. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had such a wonderful stay at Island Place! Kim was so friendly when she checked us in and gave us so much helpful information about the area. The location couldn’t be better—an easy walk to downtown Bar Harbor and just a quick drive to Acadia National Park. Parking right out front was super convenient. The rooms were immaculate, cute, and perfectly quaint. We loved having a sitting area right outside our room on the deck to relax and drink some coffee, and the gardens were absolutely beautiful. We even met the owner as we were checking out, and she was so kind and personable. We’ll definitely stay here again for both the cleanliness and the unbeatable location. Highly recommend!
