Primrose Inn

Felt like a home away from home. Really comfortable, very welcoming, nice touches. There were freshly baked cookies and pink lemonade in the dining room on our arrival. Bedroom 4 was beautiful with a really big bed, a fireplace and lovely wallpaper. We were sad to leave and would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a brilliant place to stay in Bar Harbor.

Amazing place! Feels like home. Place has a great atmosphere, room was very clean.Welcoming staff who go out of their way to help and give all the necessary tips (Jill you are the best). Breakfast was delicious. Coffee and homemade cookies are served at all time.

After flight cancelations and delays, my wife and I finally made it to the Primrose for our first trip to Maine. We were greeted by Anna, who was wonderful and gave to us an introduction to Primrose. Anna also provided a glass of wine and diet coke which was much appreciated after two stressful travel days. Coffee was ready when I came down at 7 every morning. The coffee was made by Carrabassett Coffee Company and was so good that I order a couple of pounds of coffee from Carrabassett’s website when we returned home. The breakfast was delicious and very well presented. Billy served perfectly the breakfast. The Chef and staff were talented and many thanks to Reekel, Alondra, and Martha. Our stay at the Primrose Inn was truly lovely. The staff are incredibly kind & welcoming, offering thoughtful tips & insightful suggestions that made our time in Bar Harbor even better. Breakfast each morning was fantastic, & the afternoon treats were a delightful touch. The location is ideal ...an easy stroll into town, yet just far enough removed to avoid the intensity of the crowds. The only caveat I’d offer concerns the room selection. It wasn’t entirely clear from the website where our room was situated, & for over $1,200 for two nights, I might have chosen a different room or location had I known. We stayed in Room 8, a smaller space with a very compact ensuite bathroom on the first floor, directly behind the reception desk & across a narrow hallway from the living & dining areas. T

Staying at the Primrose Inn truly felt like stepping into a cozy Hallmark movie. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warmth, charm, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. The rooms are beautiful and spotless, with the soft glow of lamplight and hot showers that never run out of steam — perfect after a cool Maine evening. Brandon, the innkeeper, was absolutely fantastic — friendly, attentive, and full of great information about Bar Harbor.
