Wingate by Wyndham Wichita Airport

I'm sure people have complained about the hotel being dated, but my thought is we get what we pay for. For the pics I paid, I thought the place was very clean and orderly. The bedsheets smelled and felt FRESH! I'm super sensitive to mattresses so ended up sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed. People with my condition will get it. Because most of us tend to SIT and read or watch TV at the head of the bed, over time, the mattress is then lower on that end. That's an FYI, not a complaint. Coming into the room there was a mirrored closet door that spooked me every time as I'd want to walk that way (basically into the door lol) rather than straight into the room. Nice hotel, though the building houses both a Wingate and Hawthorne Suites (upper level). We stayed 4 nights in room 117. The first night, I was kept awake by the sound of water running - someplace, but not in our room. I let the front desk know the next morning and the sound went away by that evening. Our room had a king bed and 2 desks - I wish one desk had been a dresser for putting some clothes in. No drawers.||Very clean room looking out on a quiet parking lot. Nice pool and Fitness center. We enjoyed the free breakfast - had hot items (bacon, sausage, eggs, waffles) and cereal and mini muffins. The staff person there, Christina, does a fabulous job keeping both the food area and seating area immaculate. She was friendly and helpful.||Good location. Near the airport and a W

Under $100 including taxes, great value for the price. great breakfast included. Rooms were clean, linens smelled fresh,fluffy pillows, the overall decor of the hotel is modern and fresh. Good customer service. I will be back when I need to stay in Wichita.

I wanted to like this hotel, but my family and I had a disappointing and concerning experience. We booked because of the great photos and reviews. When we arrived, the reception staff were friendly, but the first red flag was at the pool — two spiders, one the size of an adult’s palm. Staff removed them when notified. Our room (320) was spacious, but the floors were filthy — my kids’ feet turned black after walking barefoot for just a few minutes. The bathrooms had fans that didn’t work, and there were very few outlets. The next morning, my husband killed another spider near the door. That night, between 11 PM and 2 AM, a group of guests slammed doors and shouted loudly — several people, including us, had to call the front desk. This is the 2nd year i have stayed here with my girls. The hotel rooms are nice and clean. The pool seemed clean-the pool room is very humid, but there's an outdoor chaired area so you can get some air, but still see the pool area. Plenty of chairs and towels in the pool area too. The breakfast was good-the eggs, potato cubes, and mini muffins i got were good. Plenty of options to choose from-waffles, sausage, toast, yogurt, cereal, etc..The best part was having french vanilla creamer with my forgets coffee, so added bonus there. Service at the front desk was very friendly and helpful-they told me that there was 24/7 coffee available to help mom keep up with the 3 girls having a sleepover. Definitely a good place to stay for a quick layover for a good price.
