Wingate by Wyndham Athens Near Downtown

This review is as much a review of Expedia as it is this property. I don't normally leave negative reviews, but this one is deserving. I booked this room, on Expedia, several days in advance of my trip. This room was chosen based on proximity to a major conference that I was attending, along with almost 1000 other people.||When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that the elevator was broken, and the room I was assigned was on the 3rd floor, and I would need to take the stairs. I informed the front desk attendant that I had a leg injury that made climbing the stairs difficult, and asked if there was a room on the first floor. At the time of check-in, I was told that there were none. I asked if there was a discount due to the elevator being down. I was told that because I booked on Exped

My stay here was genuinely enjoyable and really easy from check-in to checkout. The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and people like Tony and Shalonda went out of their way to help with little things and make everything feel relaxed and friendly. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and I slept well each night. I liked that the space felt good for both work and relaxing, and it was quiet enough to actually unwind. Breakfast was a nice bonus in the morning, with plenty to choose from and staff keeping things stocked and tidy. For the price, it felt like a solid, comfortable place to stay, and I appreciated the overall hospitality and positive attitude from everyone I interacted with.

The room was amazing. The location also very good. The pool is too cold to swim but the hot tub was great. The property’s elevator didn’t work but the gentleman at the front desk offered to help us with the luggage. The breakfast was amazing!

Loved Our Stay! I can’t remember the name of the hotel, but it was a great experience all around. The room was just right for my family of six — clean, comfy, and plenty of space. They had extra blankets and towels ready for us at check-in (which was awesome because with kids, we always need more!). The first room had a toilet issue, but the front desk guy handled it fast — upgraded us right away and made sure we were set with more supplies. Overall, our two-day stay was super pleasant, and everyone was so kind and helpful. Definitely recommend for families!

Came in Saturday morning, planning to stay until Monday but we woke up to a bed bug infestation! When we pack our stuff up and complain, the hotel manager only gives us 15% off what we paid.
