SpringHill Suites by Marriott Athens Downtown/University Area

Springhill Suites may not be considered the top of the Marriott chain, but this location is OUTSTANDING. In the heart of downtown Athens with lots of covered parking. Elegant rooms, all the amenities and a highly professional staff. Its modern furnishings create a unique atmosphere and still all the Marriott touches you can expect and more. I’ll only stay here when I travel to Athens, GA. No question. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

We stayed there for a couple of nights before seeing a New Year’s Eve concert in town.||Everyone from the front desk to the maids were nice and welcoming.||This place is 7 or 8 years old but has a good location and very clean. Nice coming areas and continental breakfast has some good options.||The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because of the dark rooms which was what another reviewer mentioned as well which was the style at the time. And the bed wasn’t uncomfortable but wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve been in either.||Other than that I would stay here again and would recommend.

My stay in Athens, GA was wonderful, but the true highlight was the exceptional service from the hotel team — especially the absolute BEST bartender on the planet, Ashley. She is an experience all on her own! Her energy, her warmth, her fun personality, and the way she makes every guest feel like they’re the most important person in the room is unmatched. She mixes a phenomenal drink, remembers everyone’s favorites, and creates an atmosphere that makes you want to stay at the bar all night. We stay here every year when my daughter has a three day swim meet at the university and every year we have a great experience. The staff is usually quite friendly and the rooms are generously sized and clean. It’s a busy hotel with lots of sports events happening at the same time but the staff does a good job of responding to noise issues or complaints. The location is also convenient for the 7 minute drive to the pool or just walking to get food.

The Springhill Suites did not disappoint! The location was perfect for a visit to UGA - we were able to walk to downtown and campus easily. The rooms were super comfortable - the beds were perfect, the hum of the fan kept any external noise at bay and the black out shades kept it dark. The spacious layout was nice & allowed a living space and a sleeping space. The staff was nice & helpful. The gym looked nice. The fresh water with fruit in the lobby was a nice touch. Oh, and the lollipops at check-in:) . Will definitely be back!
