Wilder Inn (Formerly the Village Green Lodge)

We stayed during the off season. The room is very basic, but it was clean and had what we needed. Unfortunately, the fireplace wasn't working, which was disappointing since we specifically booked a king suite for the fireplace and it was a chilly weekend. 😔 We did enjoy the wooded view from our balcony and the fun books, games, and even binoculars that were available to borrow during our stay.

Excellent What a gem! My husband and I had booked two nights at this lovely inn and liked it so much we decided to stay an extra night. Trent, the owner is personable and very knowledgeable about where to go and what to do (he’s a former chef!). He did everything to make our stay perfect. The furnishings are cozy and most everything in the rooms (we stayed in two different ones) is up to date. You can’t beat the location for walkability, restaurants are a few steps away and the view of the water is just gorgeous. We look forward to coming back to the area and staying here!

My mom & I stayed here the beginning of Oct & despite a few setbacks at check-in, Trent went above & beyond to make sure our stay was nothing but the best! He maintained communication when necessary, was readily available when we had questions or small issues, always made sure we were comfortable with our accommodations & really just an all-around amazing guy to work with. If we ever come back to the area we would 100% stay here again. Thanks so much for the hospitality, Trent!!

The rooms were clean but needed updating. There was no one ever at the lobby desk. We stayed from Sunday thru Wednesday and didn’t see a single staff member, except someone stuck their head out of a room they were cleaning. The breakfast consisted of yogurt cups, bananas, Cuties and day old pastries on day Monday morning with only 1 banana and no pastries on Tuesday morning. On Monday morning the coffee dispenser had cold coffee from the previous day. The Kurieg cup container were not filled with coffee varieties. On Wednesday morning the lobby was locked and no one could enter. Definitely need to beef up the breakfast and customer service!!

Loved the place. Super location, half a block from the water and the main road yet private and peaceful. The new owners are friendly and helpful and vey accommodating. The rooms are spotless, the beds comfortable and the pool is nice and warm. Updates to the hotel and rooms are underway and we look forward to future visits. Highly recommend!
