Ephraim Guest House

Great value for the room. My favorite thing is the newly renovated shower.

The Ephraim Guest House was a lovely, quaint escape for 4 days. We were visiting family & stayed in a 1 bedroom, unit 301-I think each one is a little different. It was thoughtfully decorated to meet all of our needs and included extensive amenities to make us feel at home. It was so nice to enjoy coffee in our place before we headed out for the day. The king sized bed was very comfortable and included an assortment of pillow choices. The cozy patio had a beautiful view of the Ephraim Guest House Garden. The location was wonderful; several restaurants are within walking distance. We throughly enjoyed our visit to door county and our choice of accommodations.

Needed to take my wife on a needed getaway from work. Door County is perfect for this and the Guest House too is perfect. We have made this place our favorite to escape to. Our room had a king bed, cozy living area and a full kitchen; though we only used the fridge and coffee maker [bring your own coffee to brew than their packets in my opinion]. Nice choice too of "glassware" for drinks.||It has a small hot tub in somewhat secluded area, sometimes shaded or full sun.||Next to it are two grills if you so choose. We did not do this this time.||Anita was a nice help with towels. We needed no maid service though it appears available.||The only negative issues are no dresser for clothes though there is a large closet with high shelves. It could fit a dresser. Stayed here with my sister and we enjoyed it. She had been here before but I had not. Parking was easy, nice interior, smallish shower although the bathroom was big. We did not walk anywhere from here so cannot comment on that but this was very quiet since it is off the main road, and we liked the fact that we could cook and keep restaurant leftovers conveniently since it has a kitchen. Nice view out to the garden area, bringing in luggage from the car was easy since we had a ground floor unit. We went wandering north and south so the location was centralized for us. This was much nicer than a hotel for our purposes.

We arrived about 5 pm on a 90 degree day. The temperature in the unit on arrival was over 120 degrees. We immediately turned the room AC on high. After several hours, it was still too warm and the loft in which the king bed is located was still unusable. We ended up using the lousy sofa bed the first night. Very unhappy. The room AC is very loud, even on low. Poor air circulation in loft despite ceiling and box fans. No cross through ventilation. Staircase area leading to unit was like a blast furnace. Good proximity to shore and location is the only positive. Might be acceptable in cool weather.
