Waypoint Ventura Vintage Trailer Hotel & Campground

I've stayed at Waypoint a couple of times now, and have really enjoyed both stays. It is a unique place, perfect for those who love something different from the usual. The concept itself is fabulous, and on each stay we chose a different trailer so as to experience a new space each time. The most important thing for me is that I stayed both times as a solo mama with my son, when he was age 2 and again at age 5. Both times I felt completely safe, and he loved staying somewhere so interesting, especially right by the train tracks where he could watch a train go by now and then. He was even the one to request to go back the second time. There is a gate to access the community that locks each evening, and all trailers have solid locks on the front doors. We stayed two nights in the crown. Modern and very clean. Bathroom was very nice. They had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the spot in the park in the round courtyard - other trailers (looked like the bigger ones) were more individual in their placement. The front desk was always accommodating and offered nice touches to help with morning and evening ways to enjoy the grounds. Only con with the location is it is next to train tracks- trains do go by and do blow their horn and yes it is very loud. But walkable to downtown and the ocean. Highly recommend this unique way of spending the night in Ventura.

We stayed at Waypoint for one night and wish it were longer. A fun and unique place to stay with exceptionally friendly staff. We loved the attention to detail and little extras- like cocoa and hot apple cider in the evenings and freshly baked cookies in the morning. The train does run right past the property, but this didn’t bother us at all during the night. Highly recommend this property if you’re passing through Ventura!

What a unique place to stay. Vintage gulf stream trailers renovated but with still keeping the authenticity was quite impressive. We stayed two nights and could have stayed longer had time permitted us to do so. The grounds are well laid out as well as being clean and neat. The staff is very amiable, warm and accommodating. One of us was having a birthday and the staff surprised her with a gift of a Waypoint coffee mug! It was an easy walk into town where we found some hidden treasures in the way of restaurants and great food. Also, the beach was about a 15 minute walk away and we took advantage of the closeness. If you are into staying at novel places let Waypoint Ventura be on your list. Oh, and the home made cookies were amazing!!!!!

We loved our stay at Waypoint. Our camper was lovely and thoughtfully refurbished. So much attention to details. The service from booking to departure was exceptional. We borrowed the bikes and explored downtown, but it's also an easy walk. We took some time around the fire pit after a dinner out then called it a day in an extremely comfortable bed. We'll be back.
