Emma Wood Group Camp

This is about Emma Woods Group campground, which is open. Entrance is off west Main Street and has an office cubicle, where you can check in to the camp host. Its a wonderful campground and a path will lead you to one of the most beautiful natural beaches. However after a big rain the ground will be flooded when you walk underneath the railroad bridge, so not on rainy days Please note that the State Park Emma Woods is and will be closed.Their entrance is over the bridge, coming down. It has been a challenge for me to differ between the two parks One is closed, but the group campground which is a different entrance is open.

Close to town and beach. You could technically walk. But bikeably easy. Bring shade, there isn't much. Low dun from freeway actually helped me sleep good. Has firepit and tables. Close bathrooms and a path to the beach. Was pleased!

I'll be honest. When I first pulled past the guard stand I was a bit skeptical. It was clean but desolate. HOWEVER, once you take the path to the beach or walk the trails it's a completely different experience. I literally had the beach to myself. A few people came and went through the parking lot but left without getting out of the vehicle...their mistake. It is like having your own private beach. Listening to the waves crash on the rocks was like music and the sunset made me feel bad for those landlocked on the freeway...get out there and explore you might just find a gem.

A fairly decent place to host an event even if they need to be more flexible about the camping spots.

Do not go here if you’re planning to stay overnight. There is no indication to pay for Night Use anywhere in their website so I chose Day use. The Natl Guard kicked up off and threatened to give us a citation before I could even show him the ticket I paid for. They deserve to be fired. I REPEAT. DO NOT COME HERE.
