I had my birthday here and I was treated like royalty. I cannot rave about this place enough... great location, lovely rooms and the staff is stellar. I've traveled to 20 countries and lived in 3. I've stayed in countless hotels, hostels and living spaces. I would put Crowne Plaza in the top 3 best staff experiences I've ever had. A great place for a quick holiday. Well done to the manager for having such great people on your team.

The hotel rooms have loudly rolling barn door style frosted glass doors to the bathroom. Right next to and in line with the bed. You too can poop while visibly backlit by the bright bathroom lights, only five feet from the bed and separated only by thin panes of frosted glass and an awful barn door that doesn't block any sound whatsoever. In fact it seems to amplify it. Does that sound magical for a romantic couples getaway? Then you should stay here. ||It's a shame, because the hotel is totally fine otherwise. You can hear the ocean from the rooms (as well as the trains going by blasting their horns and people revving their loud cars and motorcycles in the parking garage next door). Beds are comfortable. Room service breakfast is low-adequate. Great location walkable to downtown and lots

Star rating really depends on what price you get it at, and with variable pricing that is difficult. I'd say if you can find it for around $250, it's a good deal given the location. The rooms are a bit tired and there's a decent amount of (disclosed) construction going on. The ocean view rooms seem to be more like partial views. You can hear the highway at night, but makes sense if you look at a map... Staff was excellent and highly accommodating.

Check-in was easy. The only thing is we had to park a short distance away if we did not initially valet, so it was a small trek to unload everything into the hotel. We also had to pay $10 to park in the parking garage adjacent to the hotel (so you had to pay and still make a trek). The hotel has been updated, so it is nice inside and in the rooms. I understand the contemporary style of the bathrooms but the door was a barn style with textured glass, so you could see body outlines and hear when people were using the bathroom, so no real privacy. Also, we only had three towels for a 4 person reservation. They did not extend the update to the room balconies, as the balcony and furniture are very dated. It would have been nice to have a nicer outside ambiance especially with the ocean vie

We had high expectations as we've stayed at othr IHG properties. However, this one did not live up to others. The scafolding for repair wasn't an issue as we knew about it ahead of time. The ocean view was very nice. The beds were comfortable (except for the pillows). The room and hotel were very clean and the staff friendly. However, our phone didn't work so we couldn't order room service as a treat we were looking forward to (it was promptly fixed after going to the front desk). My meal was burnt and the supervisor tried blaming it on what I ordered rather than the cook watching the food as it was prepared. The other meal wasn't hit even though we brought it straight to the room (thankfully we had a microwave). We were comped a free breakfast for that, but that wasn't the point. Now, u
