Walnut Tree Log Cabin Rentals

UPDATE: We stayed multiple times in the same cabin and the experience was always the same. Not once did the owners thank us for returning or offer the tiniest amenity for doing so. The reservations were obviously under another name. ====== Cute little cabins. Comfortable enough and decent price. Need to be cleaned and dusted better. Lighting is horrible. Either lit up like an airport runway or dark and gloomy. Furniture in the living areas are old and decrepit. Also, the Host could be a lot more friendly, especially to repeat guests, which would make up for a lot of the shortcomings of what could be fabulous cabins.

I recently had a 2 night stay in the Mountaineer Cabin. I loved it. The cabin is new and fresh, and all the amenities are there one would expect. It's tucked away off a gravel road giving the feeling of being far out, but still quite near the restaurants of Banner Elk and all of the nearby attractions. Grandfather Mountain and 2 major ski resorts are very close, so choosing here makes a great home base to experience those things. Sara (owner) was easy and pleasant to deal with, and makes the guest expectations clear and simple to follow. It almost feels like you're renting a friend's cabin. You don't treat it like a hotel room. There are a few more things you'll have to do, like start the towels in the laundry before you leave, and put your dishes in the dishwater. We ended up needing a place last minute since the Airbnb we booked was disgusting and this place was SOO MUCH BETTER! The cabin vibe was perfect and it had all the amenities. Would love to stay here again and super thankful for the last minute switch.

You will not find a cleaner more perfect little cabin if you tried. This is our second stay in 5 years and I have to say the owners take so much pride in their rentals. They are responsive and want to make sure your stay is the best experience possible. The property is so quiet. You wouldn’t know you were just minutes from town. We will continue to tell our friends and family about this place.

This place was great! So comfortable and cute. My wife and I spent the weekend here for her birthday and drove old NC-105, visited blowing rock, ate breakfast at Bella's down the street, and stayed in to watch some movies. Very pet-friendly, and there's a nice little farm across the way. It's about 5 minutes form a food lion and a nice big coffee shop as well. It snowed while we were there and it was gorgeous, but more importantly the heat worked great. We actually had to turn the heat off because it got so warm.
