Bluegreen Vacations Blue Ridge Village, an Ascend Collection Resort

We stayed three nights at this property, and during our entire stay we could not access our room with our own keys. We repeatedly had to wait for staff/security to let us in, which meant we never had basic, independent access to the room we paid for. This was unacceptable and highly disruptive to our plans, especially traveling with a child. Upon arrival in the evening, our keys did not work. The front desk let us in with a master key and said the lock batteries would be replaced the next morning. After being out for the day and returning that night, nothing had been fixed and we again waited about 10 minutes for security. Later we were told the lock box was “working as expected,” which contradicts the fact that our keys consistently failed. We were offered a room change late at night, but

Nicely situated in the mountains. Easy drive into town. The condo was very comfortable & had everything we needed. Part of our family stayed in another condo in the same complex. Banner Elk is a pretty little town.

Some of the outdoor extras are still in need of updating, but the entire resort has nearly been revamped. The rooms are modern, the roads are newly paved, new indoor heated pool, nice unheated outdoor pool for summer use, fishing pond with paddle boats and kayaks to use. This is a very nice place! We will be coming back for sure! On second thought, don't come here, it'll be our little secret😎

This was a quaint, nice resort very near to downtown banner elk. We had a lot of snow come down on our first day and it was absolutely amazing. We had a one bedroom condo which was really nice. The dishwasher was pretty loud, but turning the TV up high helped drown out the noise. The fireplace wasn’t working and maintenance came and looked at it and determined it needed replaced (which didn’t happen during our stay). The blinds in one of the front windows looked as though they had gotten overheated at some point and were all warped. It was super cold one night and the buildings do not seem very tight, as there was always a bit of a breeze inside. Do not recommend if you’re getting a 1 bedroom. All the 1 bedrooms are on bottom floor and it’s currently 2am and people Upstairs are still walking around and dog barking. I guess the layout is that their living room/kitchen areas are above your bedroom. We are so exhausted from skiing all day and figured most people would be that stay here, but clearly not. I contacting the office but are closed until 7:30. Tried the broom on ceiling and that did nothing. I have to be up in 3 hours for a 13 hour drive home and now will be exhausted during that. But if you’re a hard sleeper and willing to take the chance, this location is the best, 5 min drive to sugar mountain ski, right next to a food lion for groceries and minutes away from downtown banner elk with great food.
