Beech Mountain

Our family loves going to Beech for skiing. We stayed in the mountfor 3 days. First days were super cold and windy. Hard even to go down the mountain more than twice in a row even will more than one pair of gloves on. Third day was siper nice. A lot of snow on the grounf all the time (no icy spots) Kids camps (Learn to Ride) is super good, with super good and nice instructors who are prepared to deal with kids. The hard part on Beech is always getting private classes. You need tk be in line super early in the morning and still you might not be able to get it.

Ready for an icy fantasyland? Beech Mountain is a resort town with activities for all ages-snowboarding, sledding, hiking, skiing, etc. The deer are so friendly that they walk up to your car as you weave through the beautiful winding hillside. The views are UNREAL! If you go in the winter, you better be prepared with the right gear and safe transportation! Don’t miss Emerald Outback Trails near the chairlift at the top!

Really appreciate the ladies at the ticket window around noon this past Wednesday. I got lift tickets online the night before (at like 11pm, I'm not sure why it let me buy tickets for that day after closing) but they said no problem we can switch it over for you. Apparently if you don't go back and change the date a second time after you selected it once it'll just give you tickets for whatever day you're buying them on, seems like it happens a lot. Skiing was what id expect, lifts are slow, lots of high school aged snowboarders and fireball shooters littering the lift lines. I'll have to come back at night I bet it gets rowdy!

The place is nice. But do not rent ski or snowboard gear there. We stranded outside for over 2 hours, just to get the gear by that time I lost the ski class I had scheduled very early that day. They overcrowded the place there's no much space for beginners.
